![]() Between June and September 1944, the NYC built 2,000 Modified 1937 AAR design box cars in their Dispatch Car Shops in Buffalo, NY., in two Lots. Lot 734-B were numbered 159000-159999, and Lot 745-B were numbered 161000-161999. The car depicted above is lettered as-delivered from NYC’s Dispatch Shops with the clear (effective March, 1944) background medallion (48x32). Car is painted NYC red-brown (1 part Floquil #88 and 3 parts Floquil #175), underbody and truck side frames coated with black car cement.
