![]() In 1937 the N.P took delivery of 520 wood sided 1937 AAR design boxcars, much like the Great Northern’s. Built by Pacic Car & Foundry in Renton, WA, the cars were assigned Series 9480-9999. During the 1950’s, these cars were repainted and relettered with the larger 5-foot monad herald and the slogan “Main Street of the Northwest”. Note: In the late 1950’s many of these cars were rebuilt with 55-ton trucks and renumbered as Series 40500-40917, many were still in revenue service in the mid-1970’s. The post 1955 5’ monads were relettered to include RAILWAY. Use decal sheet NP-2a for this scheme. Decal sheet created at Protocraft Decals with artwork by Ted Culotta . Paint & Lettering: Cars were painted NP mineral brown. Tru-Color #193. Lettering is all white stencil paste with the red and black monan. ![]() ![]() Background color shown above is not included in decal sheet |
