![]() In January, 1941, the Norfolk Southern took delivery of 253 1937 AAR design 10’-0” IH boxcars, Class XM3, built by Magor Car Corp, Lot P-9790, Series 25500-25752. Entire car painted box car red. Both lettering schemes depicted above were applied on XM2 and XM3 type cars. The use of the new colorful round emblem began to appear in the mid-1950’s. Decal sheet designed and assembled at Protocraft Decals with lettering and artwork by Ted Culotta.
The Norfolk Southern Railway Company took delivery of 500 1932 ARA Standard 9’-3” IH boxcars between November 1935 and January, 1936. Built by Pullman-Standard, Lot 5513, Class XM2, assigned as Series 25000-25499. ![]() Background color shown above is not included in decal sheet |
