![]() Paint & Lettering: painted Sherman-Williams ash-dri red painted over the top half grey. Doors and door tracks also red. Roof, ladders, grab iron rungs, brake wheel, underframe and trucks were coated with black car cement.
Cars painted or repainted after February 1951 had complete reporting marks and dimensional data in black stencil paste. This was a result
of complaints from other roads as a result of numerous Pacemaker cars entering into interchange service. (After 1960, lettering was returned to
white and the herald had a black background - see car 175431 below - or not - see car 175258 of reverse side)
